It happened over a year and a half ago. I met this promising young man who believed that I have something good to offer. He recommended me to a platform that oiled my palms with a few genuine stipends. I was grateful, I felt useful.

So, I told him how much I value the friendship we share and don’t want anything else in between. Uncle was all over me. He showered me with names. One of those names always itches my ears whenever he mentions it. What’s that name again o? Here, ‘Uso m’ means my sweet.
Oh! In my mind, I will be like, “Can you just stop already?” But then I played cool so as not to give off those ungrateful and inconsiderate vibes. Hence, I wore politeness like a cloak and tied patience around my neck like Gele.
The wooing persisted for as long as I can remember. I tried as much as I can not to downplay his pseudo emotions or hurt his supposed genuine feelings. So I remained cool.
He is so gentlemanly in that robust way I like. He knows when to have fun, and when to focus on his hustle. Moreover, his determination to succeed is second to none. I grew to like his personality.
So, this uncle didn’t want to see me hurt, he wanted to ensure that I am okay in all ramifications. I tried in my way not to always be at the receiving end. If you understand what I mean by this.
He insisted that I was the best woman for him. Even so, he had no flicking doubt about that. I was all that mattered to him. He fought my fight even in my absence.
Also, he insisted on me maintaining my position on that platform despite backlash from other colleagues. Wow! Impressive.
I started giving his proposal a second thought. Most especially when he buys me chocolates, imagine! Who told him the gateway to my mumu button? But somehow, somewhere, I still entertained doubts and the doubt was ringing like a church bell.
Guess what, my instincts were right. The sly son of a gun masquerading like an angel of light had a huge skeleton in his cupboard.
THE YOUNG MAN WAS MARRIED WITH 4 CHILDREN. Such whitewashed deceit! But I was glad I found out early enough at his peril. I kept this truth for months but one of the days he started the stinking ‘I love you’ soundtrack. I poured the truth into his eyes and watched him stagger and swim in defeat. Him game don cut!
Na so him for just deceive daughter of Zion o! for real some men are determined to stain your white.
