In what appears to be the musical year of the femme; the 66th grammy awards is expected to hold on the 4th of February 2024 at the Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles it will be broadcast on CBS and ready on-demand and live streaming on Paramount+.
The Grammy award, which was created in 1958, will acknowledge the excellence of works submitted from October 1, 2022, to September 15, 2023.
With more nominations than any other artists on the list, the year seems to be SZA’s season as the Pop princess has already bagged herself 9 nominations followed closely by a fellow femme, Phoebe bridges and they lead an all-female ensemble of excellence with women being nominated across the board competing toe-to-toe in predominantly male dominated genres like best rap song now having to fierce female contenders alongside the men who, however, aren’t slacking as we observe Drake entangled in what seems to be a rather interesting decision between the peak cultural, popular and artistic sounds of the year.
While all the way out in Nashville Nigerian-American artist Blessing Offor is being nominated for his first Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/song.
Disney alum Coco Jones has taken the mantle of limelight and decided to Let It Shine earning a nod or five in the process similar to 21 Savage who has done something for the culture and just in time as hip-hop turns 50 this year!
Taking a page off the Drake playbook, 21 took a foray into afrobeats, hopping on a song with the African giant Burna Boy which gives him a total 5 nominations from the Academy.
And just like the yearly software updates on your mobile OS, the Academy has updated the criteria once more to reflect the ever changing times in the entertainment business.
It announced several changes for different categories and eligibility rules as well as reducing ballots from 26 fields to 11, although this does not apply to the General Field.

The Grammy sets the stage for audio consumers worldwide to get a peak into the music industry’s interpretation of quality.
